This bold use of red and black across the watch is inspired by the red to black shift from front to rear across the Nissan Z #23. The 23-minute position is highlighted with a special “23” in a further nod to the NISMO ace, and the “Z” logo appearing on the car’s rear fender is incorporated into the dial design using actual graphic data from NISMO. The bezel, band loop, and case back are engraved with the NISMO logo, for a very special limited edition that honors the NISMO racing car through and through. NISMO MY23 Edition: A timepiece designed after the fearless image of the Nissan Z car racing car in the SUPER GT
Presenting the EDIFICE NISMO MY23 Edition, a limited-edition timepiece with a name signifying “Model Year 2023,” born of a partnership between EDIFICE and NISMO. The design is inspired by the #23 Nissan Z ace racing car, which has been competing in Japan’s most prestigious motorsport race, the SUPER GT, since the 2022 racing season. The watch displays meticulous attention to detail, incorporating a diverse range of racing car-inspired design features. The watch is based on the EDIFICE SOSPENSIONE ECB-2000, which features a unique suspension arm design. This very special model expresses the passion of racing in every detail of its design.
NISMO is an affiliate of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. that engages in motorsport activities. In addition to competing in races in Japan and around the world as a Nissan works team, NISMO also contributes technologies it has cultivated through racing to Nissan road car development. Casio has been a long-time supporter, since 2003, and EDIFICE has supported the team’s #23 racing car since 2021.

Bold use of red and black, a colour combination representing the NISMO team colours that also emblazon the #23 Nissan Z racing car, features prominently in the design. Faithfully modelled after the red to black shift in the painting of the racing car from front to rear, the entire watch features a two-tone shift from red in the 12 o’clock direction to black in the 6 o’clock direction. An originally developed red hue faithfully matches NISMO red.

Based on actual graphic data from NISMO, the “Z” logo appearing on the rear fender of the #23 Nissan Z car is incorporated into the dial design along with a pattern from carbon-fibre components. Evoking the roofline of the Nissan Z, a symbolic layout of design elements inspired by a Japanese sword motif are expressed in different finishes applied to the black ion-plated metal bezel. Partially exposing the stainless steel beneath serves to accentuate the bezel’s edges. The NISMO logo is engraved in the bezel top, and the minute indications use an original Nissan font.

With a motif inspired by the double wishbone suspension, the lugs are configured in a four-arm arrangement. Carbon fiber-reinforced resin is used as the case material, delivering both strength and lightness.
